Hi Club Members,
Some kids unfortunately missed out on playing on Saturday due to the vaccination requirement. All Junior clubs including ours (special thanks to Adam and the Committee) have had discussions with the KBA over the last 48 Hours.
As a result the KBA will be moving back to Community Sport Guidelines for Rounds 5 & 6 which will provide the 12-15 age demographic the opportunity to be vaccinated in time for Round 7 which is scheduled for February 5th, 2022.
The following is a summary of the rules that will apply:
It will be a condition of entry for all spectators to show their vaccination status (or medical exemption) upon request. No vaccination, no entry.
Under the Community Sport guidelines, players and coaches are not required to show their vaccination status to participate in games.
All attendees to KBA facilities will be required to QR code upon entry.
Masks are no longer mandatory but are highly recommended in settings where social distancing is not possible.
We request that once a game has concluded, ALL players, coaches and spectators exit the venue promptly.
Players and coaches who wish to re-enter a venue as spectators will be required to show their vaccination status.
We understand this has been a difficult period for many. Throughout this process, the KBA have been doing its best to ensure the safety and interests of its community whilst complying with often confusing advice. We hope this transition allows the additional time many have requested but please be aware that effective from 2022, it is our understanding that everyone aged 12 years 2 months and above will be required to show they are double vaccinated.
Please be aware that this change effects Junior Domestic competitions only. Basketball Victoria requirements concerning VJBL still apply.
